Parent Checklist – What to Bring & Know
If this is your first swim meet—or even if you’re a seasoned swim parent—here’s a helpful list of what to bring and expect:
1. Sharpie Marker
Write your swimmer’s event, heat, and lane on their arm or hand before warm-up. Coaches cannot track down every swimmer for each event, so helping your swimmer stay on top of their races is key—especially early on.
2. Snacks & Drinks
Pack snacks for both you and your swimmer. Bananas, granola bars, trail mix, and sports drinks are great choices. Even if concessions are available, it’s always smart to bring your own cooler with water and healthy options.
3. Meet Mobile App
Download the Meet Mobile app to follow along with heat sheets, live results, and schedules. The free version offers basic functionality, while the paid version gives full access to results and features. More Info
4. Spare Gear
Bring an extra cap, goggles, and swimsuit. Swimmers lose or break gear more often than you’d expect, and it’s always better to be prepared than scrambling last minute.
5. Supportive Mindset
Whether it’s your child’s first meet or tenth, nerves are normal. Encourage them, cheer them on, and help them have fun. A positive attitude goes a long way!
Results will be posted online by Sunday afternoon at www.swimcloud.com.
Let’s make the AAU Lucky Splash a fun and memorable event for everyone!
